Can we start off with 50 sets? With the park in our "backyard", maybe we can offer an "outside" storytime/program that includes the nature notebooks? Hope all is well, Thank you— Carol/Archdale Library From: Danica Heflin <dheflin@ptrc.org> Sent: Tuesday, March 16, 2021 1:36 PM To: Stormwater Smart <stormwatersmart@ptrc.org> Subject: Environmental Literacy at the Library: Free Programs from Your Local Government for Spring 2021! Dear Library Partners: As with many a springtime past, we at Stormwater SMART have been asked by your local county and municipal governments to provide activities that promote environmental literacy and stormwater pollution prevention. All materials are free. Just reply to this email to let us know how many you might need (we can always deliver more when you start running low). For children and families, we have Nature Notebooks (link to view). This reading, writing, and drawing activity encourages your patrons to spend time outdoors in a backyard, schoolyard, our local park and "think like a naturalist". The notebook explains how nine categories of critters and plants belong to our creek habitats in the NC Piedmont. Families can pick up a notebook at your branch starting April 5, and return any time before May 8 for a prize (we provide small prizes such as bookmarks and pins).
