Project site is an existing bridge that is proposed to be removed.No new bridge is proposed.Gatewood Road is a loop road.Entrance to Gatewood Road at the completion of the
project will be on either end from NC 158.The project area can be described as rural,wooded and agricultural with sparse residences.

Purpose of the project is to remove an existing bridge with no plans to build a new bridge.

Project will involve complete removal of the existing bridge.A temporary causeway will be utilized to allow access to the bents in the stream for their removal.Typical roadway
construction equipment will be utilized,such as,dozers,backhoes,dump trucks,cranes and tamps.
