Re: Letter of Intent Regarding the Spring Lake Wastewater Collections and Treatment Plant
Dear Ms. Stallings:
The Town of Spring Lake has the following intents:
1. To operate our Waste'Water Treatment Plant for the foreseeable future, with no intentions of "
shutting down, or reducing capacity, and; .
2. To refurbish and enhance our plant by all means possible, to include the incorporation of
tertiary treatment and water reuse capability equal to at least one third of,our allocated flow,
and;
3. To continue to cooperate with all Harnett County wastewater treatment facilities and seek
future cross connectivity to help maximize the efficient use of all of our allocations, and;
4_ To look to the future and the possibility of expanding our current facility to a minimum" of
three million gallons per day.

RESOLUTION (2010) 24
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF SPRING LAKE,
NC; APPROVING THE ADOPOTION OF THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
LETTER OF INTENT.
WHEREAS; the Board of Aldermen wish to clearly state their intentions regarding the Wastewater
Treatment Plant; and
WHEREAS, the Town is interested in improving the phut with both tertiary tteatment and water re-
use; and
WHEREAS, the Townwould like to have the potential of expansion available in the future;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN
OF SPRING LAKE, THAT:
Section. 1, The Board of Aldermen does hereby approve the letter of intent as written.
Section 2. The Board of Aldermen 'does 'hereby approve the c.oneepts of tertiary treatment, water
re -use and expansion.
Section 3, The Board of Aldermen does hereby authorize the forwarding of the letter of intent to
the State for review and approval.
Section 4. This resolution shall be effective November 8th 2010.
