On September 27, 2012, Anthony Scarbraugh of the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) inspected a
proposed construction of a single family residence at the subject site located approximately 0.28
miles east - northeast of the intersection of Irvin Garrish Highway (NC Highway 12) and West End
Road in Ocracoke, Hyde County. This project was inspected for compliance with the Buffer
Authorization and General Water Quality Certification (GC) #3821 with Additional Conditions
granted on January 26, 2012 for the construction of a single family residence at the subject
property.
The GC and buffer authorization approved impacts of 0.069 acres of wetlands and 468.5 square
feet of Zone 1 and 1979 square feet of Zone 2 of the protected riparian buffer to complete your
project as described in your application received by DWQ on December 28, 2011.
The inspection revealed that the project has been completed. Impacts did not exceed beyond
the footprint of those approved. The inspection revealed that the inspected portion of this
project is currently compliant with the GC #3821 and buffer authorization.
As a reminder, if you change your project you must notify us and you may be required to send us
a new application. If the property is sold, the new owner must be given a copy of the
Certification and approval letter and is thereby responsible for complying with all conditions.
Upon completion of all work approved within the 401 WQC, and any subsequent modifications,
the applicant is required to return the enclosed certificate of completion to the 401
