From: Mark Baker 3919 S.W. 80" Way Gainesville, FL 32608 352- 222 -3442 (Cell) 352- 375 -3442 (Home) To: Division of Water Quality To whom it may concern, 08/15/2012 I purchased Lot Ion Strawberry Hill Road in the Strawberry Hill Subdivision in Jackson County on 09/08/2011. This lot contains 0.80 acres with approximately 163 feet of shoreline along Lake Glenville. There is an existing dry stack seawall (photographs included) extending approximately 93 feet from the Southwest corner of the property. This was installed by the previous owner of uncertain date but at least 8 years ago according to adjacent neighbors. This portion of the lake experiences significant boat traffic that has resulted in severe shoreline erosion (photographs included) where it is not protected by the seawall. I am requesting permission to complete the existing dry stack seawall –70 feet along the Southeast shoreline to control this erosion. The submitted photographs were taken on 08/02/2012 when the lake level was –94 feet during my site visit with Lisa Leatherman. I am uncertain how to answer questions #6, 7, 8a and 8b. I spoke to a couple of potential seawall contractors that stated that the installation was rather simple and uncomplicated and could be performed either by land or lakeside by barge. The plan is to simply extend the seawall along the existing shoreline. I am not asking permission to deepen, extend or change the shoreline contour. The shore vegetation consists of several trees with a pine - needle mat and no appreciable underbrush. The only vegetation that would be impacted is the few shoreline trees whose present root systems are extensively undercut by the existing erosion as demonstrated in the included photographs. Thank you for your attention to this request. Yours truly, /" - sa'— Mark Baker i I , J LAkC 6LEj4'VIJ_L- AT Fu)-j- PoNiD 1- 0/vCTTzF -83, 17© -all proposed vegetation clearing and excavation is to be confined to the shoreline and width of the seawall (assuming average seawall thickness of 2 -3 feet). I assume half of the seawall landside and half lakeside. - Approximately 70 linear feet of dry stack seawall - Construction access via landside driveway or lakeside barge, depending on seawall contractor selected. - Proposed structure is completion of existing seawall only. 654 Strawberry Hill Rd, Cullowhee, NC 28723 Directions, Location a... http ://Nvww. no pquest .conVprirt ?a= app.core.cc652lal 15564,97c6c586b8f Notes ._.... _ o u 5 _ LC3C.FTrOA1 l4sGr` Lz614v-,,p Map of: N* Strawberry Hill Rd z K aka N Cullowhee, NC 28723 35.178799, - 83.171452 (Address is approximate) 1 of 1 8/12/2012 12:11 AM b 1 r•' w At y M JAM 14, wow. 00 f, nfl
