NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR WIDENING AND
IMPROVEMENTS TO EVANS STREET / OLD TAR ROAD (STATE ROAD 1700)
FROM COOPER STREET / WORTHINGTON ROAD (STATE ROAD 1711) IN
WINTERVILLE TO N C 43 / U S 264A ( GREENVILLE BOULEVARD) IN GREENVILLE

The North Carolina Department of Transportation ( NCDOT) will hold a citizens
informational workshop on Monday, Sept 24, 2012 from 4 7 p m at the Pitt County
Shriners Club located at 569 Irish Lane in Winterville
The proposed project involves widening and safety improvements on Evans
Street/Old Tar Road (SR 1700) between Worthington Road (SR 1711) in Winterville and
NC 43 /US 264A/Greenville Boulevard in Greenville The project is about 3 8 miles long
Right of way acquisition is scheduled to begin in 2019 followed by construction
beginning in 2020 These dates are tentative and are subject to change
NCDOT representatives will be available in an informal setting to answer
questions and receive comments about the proposed project Maps showing the
proposed project will be on display The opportunity to submit written comments or
questions will be provided and is encouraged Interested citizens may attend at any time
during the workshop hours There will not be a formal presentation
