Energy Land & Infrastructure, PLLC (ELI) is a contractor for Piedmont
Natural Gas and has been retained to perform
survey, permitting, and engineering design services for the new Line
142 Pipeline project. This proposed
pipeline is being constructed to keep up with estimated customer
growth in the area. In order to meet
customer demand, Piedmont plans to expand its system through the
installation of approximately 10
miles of 12-inch diameter steel transmission main from the Clayton
Compressor Station in Wake County,
North Carolina to a location near the intersection of Covered Bridge
Road and Castleberry Road in
Johnston County, North Carolina. A new regulator station will be
installed at the termination point of the
new pipeline along with approximately 2,600 feet of steel distribution
main. The proposed easement
along the pipeline will be 50 feet in width. The temporary construction
easement varies in width but is
generally 30 feet wide.
