related sanitary sewer overflows or overburden any downstream pump station en route to the receiving
treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of the planned improvements
identified in the planning assessment where applicable. This analysis has been performed in accordance
with local established policies and procedures using the best available data. This certification applies to
those items listed above in Sections I and I1 plus all attached planning assessment addendums for which I

On behalf of the City of Durham and in accordance with 15A NCAC subchapter 02T and the Division of
Water Quality Minimum Design Criteria, please find enclosed the following documents associated with
the proposed Githens School Lift Station and Force Main project:
• Fast Track Sewer System Extension Application (FTA 04-16)
• Flow Tracking for Sewer Extension (FTSE 10-18)
• USGS Topographic Map of Project Area
• Aerial Map of Project Area
• Check of four hundred eighty dollars ($480.00) issued to North Carolina Department of
Environmental Quality)
The proposed project involves the construction of a new 3.54 MGD submersible lift station and
approximately 2454-ft of force main to replace the existing 2.16 MGD Old Chapel Hill Road lift station
and 12-inch force main that was constructed in 1988. The discharge location to the downstream gravity
sewer interceptor remains unchanged with flow ultimately being discharged to the South Durham Water
Reclamation Facility, permit number NC0047596.
Please feel free to contact me at (919) 582-5867 if you have any questions or require additional
information. I can also be reached at scott.haberstroh@freese.com.
