Certification for the proposed Replacement of the superstructure of Bridge No. 3
and the application of deck preservation treatment to Bridge 8 on NC 8/49 over the
Yadkin River (Tuckertown Reservoir) in Davidson, Rowan and Stanly Counties,
North Carolina, Division 9, TIP No. B-4626, BRNHP-0049(33). Debit $570 from

Dear Mr. Alsmeyer:

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to replace the
superstructure on Bridge 3 and apply deck preservation treatment to Bridge 8 on NC 8/49 over the
Yadkin River (Tuckertown Reservoir) in Davidson, Rowan, and Stanly Counties with the same
span arrangement on the existing alignment. This action will result in 18 feet of permanent impacts
to the Yadkin River from bank stabilization and 0.57 ac of temporary impacts from causeways for
bridge construction/rehabilitation. No stream mitigation will be required for this project.

Please see enclosed copies of the Pre-Construction Notification (ePCN), Stormwater Management
Plan, and Permit Drawings. A Minimum Criteria Determination Checklist (MCDC) was
completed in April 2018 and distributed shortly thereafter. Additional copies are available upon
request.
