Cyndi -
it might be best for you to coordinate with jim mcright of DEH on this - it's their
baby. I'm just in charge of the DWQ review portion for DENR.
ken, i'll call you tomorrow morning and talk about this one. Cyndi, may reach out
to you too. just want to make sure i have a good, coordinated response to melba on
this one. want to make sure i get every little thing in.

Ken - We require flooding to be included in the list of impacts, although we're
not requiring mitigation for the flooded portions, just the dam/spillway or
other areas filled.
Hannah - If you happen to remember (and I'm not asking you too, I know you're
swamped too) to drop us a note when SEPA's complete on this one, that would
allow us to issue it based on Ken's comments. Ken is the Fayetteville RO 401
guru (910-433-3500).
The new bug repellent isn't quite released to the public yet, but I'll let you
know as soon as it is.

How is everything going?
I received a copy of your ad info letter dated July 24, 06. I had received a
copy of the application for an IP directly from Jay Carter on July 19, 06. I
don't think I've seen anything since.
I've been to this place, a LONG time ago.(years, I think) Although the
impacts add up to a substantial total, this is not some really-pristine site.
It's a seep fed depression in the sandhills, if I remember correctly. I think
the plan is to pump river water to it to fill it up. (this may have to be done
frequently. I'm not sure it will hold water too well.)
Do we now require them to include flooding of streams and the existing pond
as impacts? They have included this in the narrative. If adequate mitigation
is provided, I see no reason to deny.
thanks for the info on the bug spray. Where can this stuff be bought?

Ken - had this made it your way before it got yanked because they forgot
on little detail (like the legal requirement to complete SEPA prior to
application)? Or have you otherwise heard from the applicant?

Cyndi -
Howdy!
Sent this your way on 04/10. It has already been thru the 401 approval
process and was sent back for a FNSI. It is now in the scoping stage.
Will you please forward this to the person who reviewed in with y'all
before so I can get their notes/impressions on this project.
Thanks.
