Endangered Species and Designated Critical Habitat (Corps Requirement) 5a. Will this project occur in or near an area with federally protected species or ❑ Yes ® No habitat? 5b. Have you checked with the USFWS concerning Endangered Species Act ® Yes ❑ No Impacts? ® Raleigh 5c. If yes, indicate the USFWS Field Office you have contacted. ❑ Asheville 5d. What data sources did you use to determine whether your site would Impact Endangered Species or Designated Critical Habitat? Based upon the information given in the publication entitled "Regional Inventory for Critical Natural Areas, Wetland Ecosystems, and Endangered Species Habitats of the Albemarle- Pamlico Estuarine Region: Phase III ", N.C. Natural Heritage Program February 1993, all of the natural areas and natural communities are located outside the project area. Information regardin threatened and endangered species in Granville County, NC, was obtained from the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program website: httpl/www.ncnhp.org/ on April 23, 2007. There are 17 federally listed threatened or endangered plant and animal species in Granville County. 6. Essential Fish Habitat (Corps Requirement) 6a. Will this project occur in or near an area designated as essential fish habitat? TE-1 Yes ® No 6b. What data sources did you use to determine whether your site would impact Essential Fish Habitat? Information onf common fish and wildlife in Granville County was obtained from the website http: //www.wildlife.state.nc.us provided by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission in may, 2007. 7. Historic or Prehistoric Cultural Resources (Corps Requirement) 7a. Will this project occur in or near an area that the state, federal or tribal governments have designated as having historic or cultural preservation ® Yes ❑ No status (e.g., National Historic Trust designation or properties significant in North Carolina history and archaeology)? 7b. What data sources did you use to determine whether your site would impact historic or archeological resources? Granville County has 45 nationally registered historic places as categorized by the national Register Information System provided by the National Park Service National Register of Historic Places, on November 21, 2006 available at httpJ/www.er.nps.gov /nr. Of these, two nationally registered historic places are near the City of Creedmoor. Also, The North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office records over 270 prehistoric and historic archaeological sites in Granville County. The proposed project will not affect any areas of archaeological or historic value or the aesthetic values of any cultural resources. Page 10 of 11 PCN Form — Version 1.3 December 10, 2008 Version 8. Flood Zone Designation (Corps Requirement) 8a. Will this project occur in a FEMA- designated 100 -year floodplain? --F0 Yes ❑ No 8b. If yes, explain how project meets FEMA requirements: Creedmoor does have a comprehensive land use plan regulating development in floodplains that was adopted in October 2001. More recently, the City of Creedmoor voluntarily adopted a community floodplain ordinance to correct and prevent future flood damage. The ordinance regulates construction in floodplains, prevents service to newly proposed floodplain development, and requires buffer areas around streams. Creedmoor's standards exceed the FEMA's minimum guidelines. 8c. What source(s) did you use to make the floodplain determination? The North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program website, available at http: / /www.ncfloodmaps.com, was used to evaluate the floodplains in the project area. This website was developed through collaboration between the State of North Carolina, FEMA and several other agencies.
