Ref: Permits
To Whom it may Concern:
Pertaining to the Delskeimer property located offNC Hwy 210, NE Pender Co. The
application to access Ring Branch described as Becky's Creek. While I support a
person's right to do with his property as he sees fit, I am concerned about the effects of
what it will do to the environment; that being the run off of cleared vegetation near the
creek. Common sense and good judgment can tell you there will be sediment run off in
the water. Having lived on the adjacent property for over sixty plus years, there are many
wild animals that call this creek home. There are wild deer, some raccoons, squirrels,
opossum, rabbits and a number of snakes, (rattlesnakes, copperheads, and other species).
As for nesting area for birds, there are doves, Bob White, Robins, Quail, wild ducks in
season. Most important is the wild turkey just coming back after extinction to the area.
Also there are Red Cockaded Woodpeckers. There will be the destruction of nesting
areas of these animals and fowl and there will be run off in the creeks.
These subjects should be looked at and considered before permits are granted. I would
appreciate a written reply as to the steps you will be taking to assure that the above items
have been addressed.
