On August 7 2012 I inspected the new construction project on US Highway 321A to NCSR 1712 (Starcross
Road) TIP No U 221113 in Caldwell County Construction activities include clearing and grubbing and
installation of sedimentation and erosion control measures
Please ensure that all sediment and erosion control structures are maintained and seeding and mulching are
performed as required to protect State surface waters Also please refer to the attached inspection report for
any specific items noted during the inspections

Met with DOT inspector and looked at site
Clearing and grubbing was taking place and sediment and erosion control structures were being installed
The large sediment basin adtecent to US 321 had been constructed
Water and sewer lines were also being installed The contractor installing these lines was washing Berkley Street after they finished
for the day and sediment was getting into UT1 of Gunpowder Creek
I advised the inspector of this and contractor indicated that they would change the way they were cleaning the street
