Dear Permittee:
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Bethel School WWTP on
3/10/2021. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the
conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0067351. The findings and comments
noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled
"Compliance Inspection Report". The following items were noted during the inspection:
• Verify the specific location of the discharge pipe (dye test) and clear sufficient vegetation and
debris to visualize the pipe.
• As was noted in the 2016 inspection. the facility is aging and an engineering evaluation for
maintenance and repair should be performed at the next opportunity.

Tim Heim of the Asheville Regional Office performed a Compliance Evaluation Inspection on March
10th, 2021. Joedavid Hall (ORC) was present during the inspection.
The following items were noted during the inspection and should be addressed:
Verify the specific location of the discharge pipe (dye test) and clear sufficient vegetation and debris to
visualize the pipe.
As noted in the 2016 inspection, the facility is aging and an engineering evaluation for maintenance an(
repair should be made a priority. Repair the breaks in the sludge return lines.
