NOTICE OF DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PROPOSED REPLACEMENT OF BRIDGE No
116 ON N C 24 210 (ROWAN ST) OVER CSX NORFOLK SOUTHERN RAILROADS AND
HILLSBORO STREET AND INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
TIP Project No B 4490
Cumberland County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation ( NCDOT) will hold an informal design public
hearing from 4 7 p m on Monday August 20 2012 at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum
located at 100 Bragg Blvd in Fayetteville
NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and receive comments regarding
the proposed project The opportunity to submit written comments and questions will be provided
Interested citizens may attend at any time during the above hours There will not be a formal
presentation
NCDOT proposes to replace Bridge Number 116 which carries N C 24 210 (Rowan St) over
CSX Railroad Norfolk Southern Railroad and Hillsboro St in downtown Fayetteville In addition the
project will include reconfiguring the N C 24 210 (Rowan St ) intersection with Bragg Blvd and
Murchison Rd into a single signalized intersection The project is about 0 5 mile in length Additional
right of way acquisition and the relocation of homes and businesses will be required to construct the
project
A map displaying the location of the projects and a copy of the Environmental Assessment are
available for public review at the NCDOT Division 6 Office 558 Gillespie St in Fayetteville and the
Fayetteville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Office located on the second floor of the old
courthouse building at 130 Gillespie St The maps are also available online at www fampo org
