Box 614 Jttclta2521 534-3811tttt,(.g 27845 NC Dept of Environmental Quality MAR 1 1 2021 Raleigh Regional Office Date: March 8, 202 I Re: Inflow exceeding permitted limits To: Vanessa Manuel or Scott Vinson I am sending this correspondence in reference to the Town of Jackson experiencing inflow exceeding it's permitted limits into it's sanitary sewer system on the following dates: (with amounts). March 151 (999,100 gals), 2r1`r (962,200 gals), 34(931,900 gals) , (688,300 gals), 51w (294,800ga1s). This event was in response to the month of February having 9.5 inches of rainfall following a truly wet four month long wet period in our arca. (34.7 inches of rainfall total. from November I„' 2020 through March 1st 2021). At this time the inflow exceedances have stopped as exhibited by inflow for the dates March 6th - 8th averaged out to (153 200gais each da\ ). Part of the problem the 3" I - 5111 uas attributed to a grease build in the receivinia flume at our main discharge lift station, The freeboard at the Town's WWTP Facility this date stands at 1' 4" at the beginning of the day. Part of our inflow issues comes from the East end of our system that takes a small neighboring community's wastewater into our eastside lift station, The flow meter at that lift station shows high readings that also effects our inflow. We have contacted the Northampton County Public Works System about the issue and we feel we will receive the County's cooperation in addressing their I & 1 issues. The Town will also continue working to resolve our I & 1 issues in the future. If you have any questions in regards to this matter, feel free to contact me at; (252) 534-381 1), (Town Hail Office), Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. Sincerely, Johnny G. Young, ORC I own of Jackson
