As we discussed,we've revised the profile somewhat and rather than fill the bed over the upstream reach,we will use boulder structures to set the profile and use bioengineering to stabilize the upper banks. In terms of the construction process, the contractor will use small track-mounted equipment and hand tools to minimize the disturbed footprint. A pump-around or flume flow diversion will be used to dewater the work areas, and equipment access to the upstream end will be up the dewatered channel with an entrance point near station 27+00. The length of the work reaches will depend on the length of discharge hose the contractor uses. We expect work to proceed upstream to downstream. We will make every effort to save mature trees on the upper banks. Some 12" and larger trees will need to be removed in areas where the upper banks are unstable. Many of the logs and rootwads from removed trees can be re-used for in- stream structures. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or comments as you review this information. Thanks.
