Just a heac6 utr In the Town of Winterville, Pitt Co the Good Dope Baptist Church is having building
foundation issues as a result of the erosion of the subject creek. A stream call was made, challenged, and
verified at which point the Town Manager Ms. Terri A Parker complained to a State Legislator. The issue
has remained dormant for some time, with the last event a scoping meeting held to discuss direction with
the Town, Corp, & DWQ. I understand that the meeting was completed with the Town agreeing to
submit an application for a stream stabilization project.
The Town Engineer Mr. Tom Harwell (now retired) submitted a Riparian Buffer Variance Request
asking to place 50211 of 60 ", & 10011 of 72" pipe in lieu of stream stabilization. The application package
is being sent back todavi, directing them to a PCN. I contacted the Town and let them know of the return
package and discussed the project. Ms. Parker was on Vac, spoke to the acting Town Mgn.
Likely more fun to come.
