This letter is to address the comments generated from the July 11 2012 review Please see the
responses below addressing the items from this letter
1 A site visit was conducted with DWQ on July 31 2012 to review the existing culvert the
proposed culvert extension and the existing stream between the proposed culvert outlet
and the existing railroad culvert The determination was made by DWQ that the
proposed culvert mvert will not be required to be buried due to the presence of rock The
determination was made by DWQ that the existing stream located between the proposed
outlet and the existing railroad culvert will continue to function as an intermittent stream
in a natural state
2 I have included a proposed plan detailing the proposed culvert extension
3 The proposed additional impervious area from the roadway construction will be directed
into the mining pit This handling of the stormwater will meet the Phase II Post
Construction requirements for non metallic mines
