It was sent on Tuesday (not Monday). See what you can do for me. Thanks, Deborah Subject: Variance Recommendations Date: Tue, 04 Dec 2001 16:17:52 -0500 From: Deborah Sawyer <Deborah.Sawyer @ ncmai 1. net> Organization: DENR To: Bob Zarzecki <Bob.ZaTzecki @ncmail.net> CC: Tom Steffens <Tom.Steffens@ncmail.net> Cp Bob, Here are the WaRO recommendations on the following variances: Michael Avery, Craven Co.: Mike is the Craven Co. Planner and he needs this ASAP (by Friday via FAX if possible, FAX # 252-636-2146), he has builders who will put him off for 3 additional weeks if he can't go by Friday. Olde Towne is a very old subdivision platted long before the rules. Most of the lots are small especially the waterfront ones. Jason Green and Mike Thomas looked at this site and confirmed that it is a hardship. It is Zone 2 impacts only. WaRO recommends issuance of the Variance. This is for Mike's personal residence. He sent your office a copy of this quite a while ago. Please try to help him out. Thanks. E. Dale Goldman, Craven Co.: This project is another one in Olde Towne subdivision. It is a very small lot. Skip Crayton of Coldwell Banker is the agent and says he is going to lose the sale if the variance doesn't come soon. This was one of the variances sent via courier while you were gone. As you can see, it is a hardship. Jason and Mike looked at this one also and confirmed hardship. Most all of the impacts are in Zone 1 and 2 except for a very small amount but I don't see any options on this very small lot. Applicant willing to mitigate if we tell how much. WaRO recommends issuance of the Variance with mitigation. Again, if you can get this one soon, please FAX to Skip at the FAX # on the application. Robert Bedwell, Hyde Co., Ocracoke: This is a "General" for Zone 2 impacts only on Ocracoke. It is a hardship. Roxanne Dorman of Env. Prof. will be E-mailing you and I the•page # of the platted and recorded lot on Ocracoke. It is very old family land platted a long time ago. WaRO recommends issuance of the Variance. • Charles M. & Barbara B. Becker, Pamlico Co.: WaRO recommends issuance of Variance with mitigation for Zone 1 impacts. Raymond & Elaine Overgaard, Pamlico Co.; Big problems here. This one came in to C.O. on 10/5 was sent out to wrong region (RRO) 13 days later (rcd. RRO on 10/18) was forwarded to WaRO and rcd. 12/4/01. Even bigger problem, the plat doesn't even show a house on it. It should have never been accepted as complete on 10/5. I don't know what to do with this one. It says clock expires 12/5 which is tomorrow and I will be on leave for the day (back on 12/6/01). See what you can do to "save face" on this one. 1 of 2 12/7/01 11:16 AM [Fwd: Variance Recommendations] Bob, I have the following others but they need field visits and some of the plats are very bad and difficult to evaluate. At the Buffer meeting we need to discuss "complete application" protocol because some of these aren't making it. • Bob and Grace Widmar, Pamlico Co.: Bad plat; marsh line not shown; footprint of house questionable; need site visit as well as discussion with applicant for additional info. • Merle W. Richman, Pamlico Co.: Plat OK but doesn't show marsh line if there; need site visit. • Diana & glen Newman, Pamlico Co.: Plat OK; need site visit to see if house can be relocated. • John A. Lilley, Pamlico Co.:Bad plat; doesn't show property lines to see if trailer can be located out o] buffer; site visit required • Richard & Kristi Welton, Pamlico Co.: Plat OK need to look at site for marsh; only shows 75' AEC. I'll try to visit these this week. I'll E-mail you with comments. Thanks, Deborah 2 of 2 12/7/01 11:16 AM
