The boat basin is located at headquarters building for Cape Lookout National Seashore The boat basin was developed
in the 1950 s or 1960 s or earlier and is currently used by the National Park Service for accessing the islands of Core
Banks and Shackleford Banks The National Park Service plans to dredge less than 1000 cubic yards of material from
the basin
