Pecan Grove Dredging
On January 23, 2007, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) in the Wilmington Regional Office (WiRO) received
your CAMA application dated January 23, 2007 to dredge an access channel to an existing boat ramp The
Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) has commented on concerns about the presence of submerged aquatic
vegetation (SAVs) within the dredging footprint, this Office has determined that significant uses could be
removed or degraded by this project Therefore, unless modifications of the proposal are made, we will
recommend moving towards denial of the 401 Water Quality Certification as required in 15A NCAC 2H 0507
Please respond within three weeks of the date of this letter by sending this information to me in writing and 5 copies
of the information to Ian McMillian of the DWQ Oversight Unit Office You will also need to send copies of the
changes to the Division of Coastal Management (DCM) and Dave Timpy of the Wilmington Corps of Engineers If
we do not hear from you within three weeks, we will assume that you no longer want to pursue this project and we
will consider the project as withdrawn
This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters or
protected buffers Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not authorized (at this
