RE NWP 12 Application, Castle Hayne Water Main, New Hanover County NC
Cape Fear Public Utility Authority
Dear Emily
Enclosed is a NWP 12 application for your review This application is submitted on
behalf of the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority for the installation of a water main along Castle
Hayne Road in New Hanover County NC Approximately 20 LF of stream and 0 002 acre of a
jurisdictional non RPW will be temporarily impacted during construction The jurisdictional
areas could not be directionally bored for economic and maintenance considerations An open
cut crossing with bends and ductile iron pipe is more confined and can be laid more shallow than
a longer deeper directional drill with HDPE Areas will be returned to pre construction contours
after the line is installed
The Pre Construction Notification form, associated maps, and site plan are enclosed for
your review Please contact me if you have any questions Thank you for your assistance with
this project
