FTA Narrative — Public Sanitary Sewer Extension
Sidbury Farms — Phase 1
(258 SF Homes)
Located in New Hanover County, NC
October, 2020
D.R. Horton is proposing to develop a 258-lot single-family subdivision, Sidbury Farms, in
New Hanover County on Sidbury Road. The nature of this FTA submittal is to permit a public
sanitary sewer extension system consisting of gravity sewer manholes, gravity sewer piping,
and force main to service the proposed communities.
D.R. Horton, Inc. will install the public gravity sewer system in conformance with the plans,
permit and specifications to be dedicated to New Hanover County for ownership and
maintenance. Sidbury Farms will permit wastewater based on the daily rate of 360 gpd based
on single-family homes.
Sidbury Farms — Phase 1: 258 homes = 92,800 GPD
The proposed public extension of the gravity sewer main will be constructed of concrete
manholes, 8" C-900 PVC / 8" DIP, and will provide sewer services with cleanouts for all 258
single-family lots.
This new public gravity system is designed in accordance with the NCDEQ minimum design
criteria 15A NCAC 02T .0305. Appropriate horizontal and vertical clearances will be provided
when proximal to the proposed storm drainage system and the proposed water system. The
gravity sewer will be certified in accordance with state regulations and the permit conditions
and will be owned and maintained by New Hanover County.
This package includes the Flow Tracking/Acceptance for Sewer Extension Application (FTSE
10-18), Fast Track Sewer System Extension Application (04-16), USGS topographical map, and
plan set.

treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of the planned improvements
identified in the planning assessment where applicable. This analysis has been performed in accordance
with local established policies and procedures using the best available data. This certification applies to
those items listed above in Sections I and II plus all attached planning assessment addendums for which I
