Salisbury Street Raleigh, NC 27604 Dear Sirs, ao3ol T a"C I am attaching the Shoreline Stabilization Application Form for your consideration along a check for $240 which I trust is the correct amount. I have been concerned with this shoreline for several years since the 2019 tornado which came through our area and along with the loss of over 12 trees. We also had several feet of our shoreline effected with landslides into the lake. Also in 2020 there was a excess rainfall event which we had over 14 inches of rain over a week and had two landslides along our shoreline. Totally, we have lost over 1000 sq ft of land falling into the lake. We are ready to fix that problem. I trust the information contained with the application is appropriate and completed enough for providing what is required so I can move forward with the repair of the shoreline. Please let me know what else is needed and I remain, Since ` 1 PQ er E arnett 6'706 Waterfront Dr. Hickory, NC 28601 Pbarnettl(agmail.com 704-906-9200 RECEIVEMCDENWR FEB 2'6 2021 Water Quality Permitting Section Contact Name * Contact Email Address* Project Owner* Project Name * Project County* Owner Address:* Is this a transportation project? * Peter E Barnett pbarnettl@gmail.com Peter E Barnett Shoreline stabilization 6706 Waterfront Dr Caldwell Street Address 6706 Waterfront Drive Address Line 2 aty Hickory R>stal / Zip Code 28601 r Yes c No Type(s) of approval sought from the DWR: r 401 Water Quality Certification - f-`" 401 Water Quality Certification - Regular Express D Individual Permit r- Modification P, Shoreline Stabilization Does this project have an existing project ID#?* r Yes r. We need help to control that erosion and need the appropriate assistance to find that help. I have been in touch with Amy Annio, Environmental Specialist -Asheville Regional Office, NCDEQ-Division of Water Resources and she suggested that we follow the appropriate process. Followed by trimming back some the existing vegetation in order to have suitable terrain to secure our DOT grade filtration fabric to the shoreline. Step Two As agreed upon by Mr. Barnett, and Mr. Rush (see attached letter) We will begin bringing class B stone to our staging area on Mr. Rush' property and ensure we have safe access between the two existing drives. 3 / ce lv p f ° asodo✓d Barnett Landslide Proposal Installation of DOT grade filter fabric and large tonnage of stabilization aggregates Class B stone will be moved form staging area to proposed area via machinery, where it will be hand placed in order to avoid further landslides, and more aggregate than necessary entering the riverbed. Once a suitable 'bed" has been obtained at the banks bottom rock will be stacked to banks top at an angle such that suitable stabilization is obtained.
