Reference the DCM memo from Barry Guthrie received by this office in an email dated
July 9, 2012 regarding a modification request to State Permit No. 63 -09 submitted by the
NCWRC to replace 2 existing boat ramps with 2 new 15'x 90' ramps with final depth of -6.0'
NWL, replace 2 existing fixed docks with new 5' wide fixed docks; 1 at 90.03 long and 1 at
93.3' long, construction of a new 8' wide x 60' long center floating dock, paving the
existing gravel parking lot with asphalt, and replace the existing wood bulkhead and walls
with new vinyl bulkheads, total length of bulkhead is 656 lf.
Based on our telephone conversation today, the all of the proposed repair and
replacements for the existing boat ramp are located within the existing footprint and thus
can be authorized under a minor modification. No additional impacts will result from this
activity.
Based on this information, the Corps of Engineers does not object to the proposed
repair and replacement of the NCWRC Cedar Island boat ramp.
