This facilty contains two 150,000 gallon settling basins. Physical/chemical treatment consist of recirculation, settling, and pH adjustment when necessary. The settling; basins act as clarifiers. Wastewater enters on one end of either basin and has detention time where the solids settle out and the water overflows a weir wall on the other end of the basin. When necessary, the water is drawn down, and the solids are allowed to dewater. The solids are removed and placed back in. the coal pile where it is incorporated into existing coal and reused. All lab data appeared to be correct as reported,on the DMR's for the review period of 11/2006 and 02/2007. The plant has not been operating for several months, and there is very littledischarge at this time.
