Rockingham County Wastewater Collection System
Dear Mr. Metzler:
On February 10, 2021, Gary Hudson of the Division of Water Resources (Division),
Winston-Salem Regional Office met with Eric Thompson, Operator in Responsible Charge
(ORC), to conduct a Compliance Evaluation Inspection of the above referenced Wastewater
Collection System.
This inspection consists of (1) a review of the permit and accompanying documentation
to determine compliance with permit conditions, and (2) an on -site inspection of collection
system components. The attached inspection form notes the areas that were evaluated for the
inspection, with notable findings outlined as follows.
Site Inspections
1. Pump Stations — The Fishing Creek Pump Station was inspected, and no issues were
noted.
2. High Priority Lines — All four of the high priority lines were inspected, and no issues
were noted.

Inspection Summary:
*The permit became effective November 1, 2016 and expires October 31, 2024.
*The FOG educational document is in the June and January customer news letter.
*Mr. Thompson provided a Capital Improvement Plan that covered a five year period that included several large projects.
*The collection system had reportable SSOs during Hurricane Micheal in 2018.
*The system has 4 HPLs, and all 4 were inspected during the inspection.
*An adequate Spill Response Action Plan was presented and is available to all personell.
*The system is free of known points of bypass.
*Hydro Structures does the cleaning, jetting, and T.V. of 10% of the system yearly.
*The Fishing Creek Pump Station was inspected and no problems were noted.
