Motiva Enterprises LLC(Motiva)owns and operates the Greensboro Terminal located at 101 S. Chimney
Rock Road,Greensboro in Guilford County,NC.This petroleum bulk storage and distribution facility
discharges treated stormwater under NPDES Permit No.NC0022209 which will expire on August 31,
2021.Enclosed please find a complete Permit Renewal Application Package including:
• EPA Form 1
• Map of the facility location and surrounding area
• EPA Form 2E
• Process flow diagram of the wastewater system
• Effluent data for the last three years
There has been no change at the facility since the 2016 permit renewal, and Motiva is respectfully making
the following requests for this permit renewal:
Removal of monitoring for Oil and Grease
Motiva is respectfully requesting removal of the monitoring requirement for Oil and Grease.All 36
monthly monitoring results for Oil and Grease were below the limit of detection(LOD)at<5 mg/L in the
past three years. Therefore, Motiva requests that monitoring requirements for Oil and Grease be removed
from the permit.
Removal of monitoring for BTEX,MTBE,Naphthalene and Total Recoverable Phenolics
Motiva is also respectfully requesting to discontinue the monitoring for Benzene,Toluene,Ethyl Benzene
and Xylene(BTEX),methyl tert-butyl ether(MTBE),Naphthalene and Total Recoverable Phenolics
based on the facility's exceptional performance for the past three years. In addition,Motiva stopped using
MTBE as an oxygenate in gasoline in 2010,and is not planning to use MTBE for future production and
