DESCRIPTION OF REVIEW ACTIVITIES,RESULTS,AND CONCLUSIONS:HPOWeb reviewed on 1 November 2017 and yielded no NR, DE, SL, LD, or SS properties in the Area of Potential Effects (APE). Rockingham County current GIS mapping, aerial photography, and tax information indicated a wooded APE with two mid-twentieth-century residential resources, both unexceptional examples of their types (viewed 1 November 2017). A circa-1850 house (#937 Garret Road, PID: 102724) stands approximately 395 feet north and a circa-1880 house with mid-twentieth-century outbuildings (#1710 Rhodes Road, PID: 172662) stands approximately 875 feet southeast of the pipe location, both outside the APE and well beyond likely project impact. Google Maps"Street View"confirmed the absence of critical architectural and landscape resources in the APE (viewed 1 November 2017). The APE extends 300 feet to the east and west of the pipe location and 100 feet to either side of the existing SR 1501 (Garrett Road) centerline (N-S) to encompass all proposed construction activities and possible project impact. The comprehensive county architectural survey (2001-2003) is recent and reliable and includes no properties in the APE. No National Register-listed properties are located within the APE. A finding of"no historic properties affected"will satisfy both Section 106 and GS 121- 12(a) compliance requirements.
