A few thoughts as I dust rambled into your VM —
It looks to me like the project is officially dust the road widening and that the whole mining operation should not
be pulled into it
It looks like they are adding approximately 1 additional acre of impervious surface (I dust scaled it off after
leaving you the message — to me this is not as insignificant as I originally thought ) Since it is a NWP 39 1 do
think they should be doing SW treatment for the additional impervious surface We would allow them to swap
out impervious surface — for example they could treat an equivalent sized building /parking area instead of the
road if that is easier
Let me know what you think I have provided a bullet reflecting this comment —but if you do not agree with my
thoughts we can discuss

1 Per the requirements of GC 3890 this project must provide a Stormwater
Management Plan for the additional built upon area associated with the expanded
entrance road This SNIP must be designed to remove a minimum of 85 percent Total
Suspended Solids from the stormwater generated by this project For each proposed
BMP please provide a completed BMP Supplement Form with all the required
items The DWQ will allow you to treat the stormwater from an equivalent amount
of built upon area if that is more cost effective on your site
