We request your concurrence with this activity is deemed permitted as required by the regulation. The purpose of this activity is to provide an alternate treatment and disposal for ash contaminated wash water generated from the washing of delivery truck tires after unloading at the STAR unit. Duke Energy has requested the services of Shamrock Environmental Corporation. A passive wheel wash system is scheduled to be installed by mid -March and the project engineers are reviewing design criteria to use the wash water in the STAR system for cooling within the reactor. These processes will lessen the volume of wash water requiring shipment to off -site treatment. The wash water is shipped to SEC's wastewater treatment facility in Greensboro, NC. SEC provides both wastewater treatment and hauling of the waste. A letter of acceptance from SEC outlining their permits and capability is included with this submittal in accordance with 15A NCAC 02T .0203, this wash water contains no human waste. We request that you provide written concurrence with this activity, in accordance with the regulatory requirements for coverage under 15A NCAC 02T .0203. As duly authorized representative of the company, please be advised that Shamrock Environmental Corporation a North Carolina Corporation and owner operator of the permits, vehicles and site described herein is permitted to haul various waste materials in NC. We have several vacuum loader equipped vehicles permitted to haul wastewater ranging between 3500 gallons to 6000 gallons in capacity which gives us more than adequate capacity to handle substantial quantities of wastewater for treatment and discharge per day from Goldsboro, NC. Furthermore, we are permitted under a Significant Industrial User Permit Number P065 issued by the City of Greensboro to receive and treat industrial wastewaters regulated under the Centralized Waste Treatment Categorical Pre-treatment Standards (40 CFR §437) at our facility located at 6106 Corporate Park Drive in Browns Summit, NC with capacity to accept and treat an average daily maximum of at least 150,000 gallons per day of this type of wastewater. Specifically, to address your request, please be advised that we hold all necessary permits and authorizations to accept and treat the non -hazardous wastewaters as represented in the above captioned Profile/Approval submitted to us by SEFA Group and originating from the subject Duke Energy HF Lee Plant. In summary, Shamrock Environmental is fully permitted, capable and willing to accept and treat these materials, as represented and subject to conformance with our profiling and acceptance procedures.
