County The bridge is located on SR 1 126 appromi-nates 2 1 miles south of the intersection of SR 1126 and
US 158 in Northampton County I he bridge spans Gumbeiry Swamp which is a tributary to the Roanoke
Rivet Gumberry Swamp is classified by DWQ as class C waters Bridge # 48 is currently a wooden
stiuctuie with a ti nbei deck that is 44 ft Ion, by 26 ft wide this structure will be removed using
NCDOT s guidelines for bridle demolition and removal The pioposed bride will be replaced on its
existing alignment I he new bridge stiuctuie will be 90 in len „th by -)0 wide and built with precast cored
slab concrete deck concrete piles and support bents In conjunction with the Lt idge teplacement NCDOT
is also proposm, to replace some floodplain overflow pipes loc itc,d approximately 100 it s -)uth of the
bridge structure The emstin, pipes die 2 a 52ft X 48 it and will be ieplaced with i (i 54 ft X 48 inches
Jurisdictional Impacts wetlands and suil-ice waters will result from this project Thcse impacts have been
