NARRATIVE SUMMARY
GENERAL INFORMATION:
GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION:
During this reporting period, the POTW did not modify any of the Pretreatment
Program Elements. The POTW is in agreement with the dates listed in the attached
"Pretreatment Program Info Database". No changes were made to the dates for the
Program Elements.
GENERAL PERMIT INFORMATION:
Permit #0003 issued to Auria was modified with an effective date of January 1, 2020.
The permit modification was approved by the State by letter dated January 9, 2020.
SIU INFORMATION:
1. Auria, IUP#0003
SIGNIFICANT NONCOMPLIANCE (SNC) INFORMATION:
Auria was in Significant NonCompliance for Mercury during the first
compliance period. During the first compliance period one out of two
samples exceeded the daily maximum permit limitation. In accordance with
the City's Enforcement Response Plan, a public notice was completed and
civil pentalites assessed.
OTHER INFORMATION:
During this reporting period, Auria exceeded the daily maximum permit limit
for Mercury during each of the compliance periods. A Notice of Violation
was sent in accordance with the City's Enforcement Response Plan.
All of the required permit sampling and inspection was completed by the
POTW.

Dear Mr. Brandon,
The City of Albemarle has completed the review of the industrial discharge data for the period January 1,
2020 through December 31, 2020 and it is determined that Auria is in Significant NonCompliance (SNC)
for Mercury violations for the compliance period ending June 30, 2020. During the compliance period, a
total of 2 Mercury samples were analyzed. Out of the sample population, 1 sample exceeded the TRC limit
resulting in 50% of the samples being a TRC Violation. North Carolina Pretreatment regulations and the
City of Albemarle Sewer Use Ordinance identifies Significant NonCompliance when thirty-three percent
(33%) or more of the samples are equal to or exceed the Technical Review Criteria (TRC) limit. In
accordance with Federal and State pretreatment regulations, the City is required to place a public notice in
a local newspaper of the violations. In addition, as per the City of Albemarle's Enforcement Response
Plan, Auria is assessed civil penalties according to the schedule below:

any way relieve or replace any other fines, penalties, or enforcement action that may be levied.
