NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR THE
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS TO MORRISVILLE CARPENTER ROAD (STATE
ROAD 3014) FROM WEST OF DAVIS DRIVE (S R 1616) TO EAST OF OLD
SAVANNAH DRIVE IN MORRISVILLE

The North Carolina Department of Transportation ( NCDOT) will hold a citizens
informational workshop for the above project on Monday May 21 2012 from 4 7 p m at
the Morrisville Town Hall Council Chambers located at 100 Town Hall Drive
NCDOT proposes to widen the section of Morrisville Carpenter Road from Gratiot
Drive to Leafy Creek Drive to five lanes with a curb and gutter as well as install
sidewalks Intersection improvements at Morrisville Carpenter Road and Davis Drive are
proposed, and two pedestrian crossings also proposed along Morrisville Carpenter
Road
The purpose of this project is to improve traffic capacity as well as provide
continuous additional lanes to fill in the existing gap between Davis Drive and Old
Savannah Drive
Residents are invited to speak individually with NCDOT officials and to review the
project area map any time during the above hours Aerial maps showing the project
area will be displayed at the workshop The opportunity to submit written comments or
questions also will be provided Comments and suggestions received will be considered
during the design phase There will not be a formal presentation
