Home My WebLink About20120489 Ver 1_More Info Letter_20120531IL F MCDER North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Division of Water Quality Beverly Eaves Perdue Governor Charles Waklld P E Director May 31 2012 CERTIFIED MAIL 7010 0290 0003 0834 5602 RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED NC Wildlife Resources Commission Attn Mark Hamlett 1720 Mail Service Center Raleigh NC 27699 1720 SUBJECT 12380 Shaw Highway BAA, Burgaw Protect # 2012 0489 Pender County Dear Mr Hamlett Dee Freeman Secretary This Office has reviewed your CAMA application dated May 15 2012 for the replacement of a boat ramp dock and to construct a new ADA compliant dock and parking space The Division of Water Quality (DWQ) has determined that your application was incomplete as discussed below The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands /waters and/or streams on the subject property Therefore unless we receive the additional information requested below we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H 0506 and will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information Please provide all of the following information so that we may continue to review your project 1) The Coastal Management narrative states that there will be additional open water impacts (322 sq ft) due to the ramp The drawings that are a part of the application package do not cull out this impact The drawings show the layout of the new ramp overlain on the old ramp and it is difficult to see which is which The drawings should be shaded or hatched differently to show the difference of the new impacted area, due to the ramp shift and a different hatch where the ramp was moved from These areas need to be labeled and areas calculated This should be done on a close up of the ramp like on Sheet C2 See the attached drawing for an example 2) The Coastal Management narrative also states that there will be wetland impacts estimated to be less than 100 square feet The drawing shows no wetland jurisdiction line Has the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) been out to the site to approve a wetland line?
