This document has been developed to meet pretreatment standards and has been prepared by our pretreatment coordinator & reviewed by the POTW Director. The wastewater treatment plant personal continues to learn the new fine diffused bubbler system since plant upgrade. The city's FOG (fats, oil, and grease) program has been reinstated and enforcing the City's FOG Ordinance. Since the reimplementation of this program, a number of potential collection system problems have been identified, and sanitary sewer spills avoided. Local food service establishments and institutional facilities have been brought into compliance with the ordinance, and the program continues to gain acceptance. Drought The City of Morganton is no longer in any water restriction use. General Permits No permits lapsed or expired in 2020. Case Farms # 1098 Case Farms continues to be a valuable customer to the City of Morganton. Case Farms has made improvements in their pretreatment process in 2020, and is a very proactive industry. Case Farms had only four compliance violation in 2020. Case Farms is in the process of construction of a flow equalization basin in order to improve their pretreatment process. Seiren #4002 Seiren is one of the City of Morganton's larger water and wastewater customers. Seiren is very cooperative with the City of Morganton's Pretreatment program. Seiren North America had very good compliance record, with only two compliance violations for the entire year of 2020, and is a vital component to the local economy. Overall View Our local SIU industries seem to be able to remain steady. Support for the Pretreatment Program among the other industries remains strong. The total number of NOV's issued to SIU's in 2020 was 6, up from 4 in 2019. Our local SIU industries experienced production slowdowns in the year due to COVID 19. The City of Morganton wishes all of our local industries continued success. Dental Survey The City of Morganton sent out 22 dental surveys for mercury and 21 surveys had been returned. The last dental office is in the process of installing Amalgam separator. They are currently behind schedule due to COVID 19. Other Pretreatment Program Info Database has error on CIU's should be zero since Leviton had permit drop in 2018. The Historical SNC Report was received. The Headworks Analysis (HWA) was mailed 12/29/2020. Waste Reduction in 2020 City of Morganton - The City of Morganton encourages and participates in the recycling of plastics, glass, aluminum, newspaper and corrugated cardboard at drop off sites in the City.
