"-Benjamin Franklin 2 Recovery Annual Outage -Spring 2018 Week of March 18, 2018 Revision Date: 3/13/2018 Summary of Outage The 2018 Spring Annual Outage is scheduled for 6 days during the week of March 18. The schedule includes annual inspection and repairs to #5 Kiln, #5 Slaker, South EIMCO White Liquor Clarifier, South Mud Washer, #11 Recovery Boiler, Swensons Evaporators and the Hardwood Fiberline. No. 11RB will start down on Sunday, March 18 at 4:00 pm and is to be ready for code work by 1:00 pm on Tuesday, after the boiler is cleaned. The pressure part work is to be completed by 6:00 am on Saturday, March 24. The Hardwood side will blow their last digester at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 18 and will be ready to run Saturday morning, March 24. The Swensons Evaporators will run into 1:00 AM, Monday, March 19 to try and capture the dumping of No.11RB's cyclones. The boil out of the evaporator will start when the weak liquor is low. No. 5 Kiln will start down Saturday, March 17, and be washed (need to get fire hose and connections/nozzles ready) and have locked out by Sunday morning and ready for Norris & Son. The #5 Precoat Filter will need to be locked out for maintenance to begin on Saturday, March 17. We will replacing refractory and kiln chain, as necessary, along with replacing the nose ring). Electrical Lockouts (Note requested by E&I) Although primarily the responsibility of the electricians, please be aware that it is a good practice to lock out all starters/switches with doors in the open position. Keep this in mind in case the opportunity presents itself to remind an electrician who you accompany on a lockout. E&I has also submitted a more specific request pertaining to the primary, secondary, and tertiary air fans on No. 11 Recovery Boiler. Appropriate measures need to be taken to prevent the motor shafts from rotating after the equipment is locked out. If the shaft is allowed to rotate, the results of their planned testing will be invalid. Uncoupling the fans or other means to prevent motor rotation should be done to ensure valid testing. A reminder regarding this request will be included in the recovery boiler section of this schedule. "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.
