Subject: Blue Ridge Color Perception Update
Folks-got a call from Paul Dickens with Blue Ridge Paper today. They completed the third round of color perception
surveys along Pigeon River on Saturday Nov. 10th. Their consultant will now spend time evaluating data and preparing a
report. Based on terms of Partial Settlement Agreement, Blue Ridge will exercise best efforts to complete study and
submit report before Jan 1, 2013. Also, parties jointly agreed to submit joint status report to OAH on or before Jan 30,
2013 (just 2.5 months down the road!).
Reminder- DWQ Standards Unit (Dianne Reid) will take lead role in review of color perception study and development of
any site-specific color standard. NPDES Permitting Unit (Tom, Sergei)will implement final color determination.
