A meeting was held at Blue Ridge Paper to discuss the fecal coliform permit violations that have
occurred in June,August and November 2012.
BRP and the Town of Canton identified a broken line which feeds chlorinated water to the Town's
wastewater at the mixing manhole prior to the wastewater entering the plant's low-lift facility.
It appears this broken line was the cause of the fecal violations.Additional monitoring should confirm.
DWQ indicated that no action will be taken on the August and November violations until a couple more
months of DMRs have been submitted to ascertain whether the broken line was the culprit.
