9 Narrative Description
The property is located near New Bern at 670 Goose Creek Road (NC SR 1962) off of Brices Creek
Road in Craven County This site is developed with a single family residence and docking facility
This parcel is 2 500 square feet Both of the adjacent properties are also similarly developed

The elevation of the high ground of the parcel is about +10 above the normal water level Vegetation
on the common lot mainly consists of manicured lawn grasses This lot has approximately 100 of
continuous shoreline along the Trent Ri,, er Immediate offshore water depths adjacent to the lot range
from about —1 5 to —4 0 nwl The subaqueous substrate is soft without shell
This waterbody is about 1 694 feet across at this location These waters are not classified as a Primary
Nursery Area and there is submerged aquatic vegetation present in the near shore vicinity of the
project area This area is closed to shellfish harvest and is classified as SB Sw Nutrient Sensitive
Waters There is a defined channel in this area This project area is subject to the Neuse River
Riparian Buffer Rules
10 Proposed Development
The applicants wish to construct a third slip at their existing private docking facility The proposed
development will take place at 670 Goose Creek Road (SR 1962) near New Bern Craven County
The existing fixed dock has a boathouse on the east side and a 5' by 10 floating jet ski dock on the
west side This docking facility was authorized under two previous CAMA General Permits The
applicants wish to connect an additional 5 by 10 floating jet ski dock attached to the south side of
the existmgjet ski dock which is located on the northwest corner of the existing platform This new
het dock will support the dockage of a third boat slip Water depths in this area are 4 5 nwl deep
10 Anticipated Impacts
The new jet dock will lie within the existing incorporated footprint of the docking facility It will be
approximately 30 from the nearest adjacent riparian property line which is on the western boundary
of the lot It will not encroach any closer to the adjacent riparian property lines than what currently
exists
Water depths within the proposed boat slip is deep enough to prevent scouring of the bottom
habitat The waters of the Trent River are not classified as a Primary Nursery Area There is
submerged aquatic vegetation dust in shore of the proposed het dock but it should not be impacted
by this project This area is closed to shellfish harvest and is classified as SB Sw Nutrient
Sensitive Waters There is a defined channel in this area but the existing docking facility poses no
threat to navigation
