The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) submits the following comments
pursuant to General Statute 113 -131. DMF reviewed the revised CAMA Major permit
application from the Town of Holden Beach regarding the addition of an offshore borrow area
to provide sand for a one -time nourishment event on the central reach of Holden Beach. In our
March 12, 2012 letter, DMF requested additional information regarding analysis of other
borrow areas, clarification of seismic data at the preferred borrow area, and their benthic
macroinvertebrate monitoring plan.
Holden Beach and ATM have since provided the requested information in reports and in the
May 8th, 2012 interagency meeting. DMF has no further comment. Please feel free to contact
