The proposed project will replace the existing deficient crossing pipe as follows
Site 1 Replace existing 15 x 24 RCP with a 30 x 48 RCP
This pipe is being replaced in anticipation of a scheduled grading and pavmg project The amount of total pipe
length increase (24ft ) is needed to unproved hydraulic flow and to allow for the widening of the roadbed in order to
provide a safe travel lane and road shoulder
The total percentage of impervious surface within the project area will be approximately 33% All erosion control
devices used on the project will be appropriate to the location and in compliance with the current version of the
NCDOT Best Management Practices Manual (BMP) The crossing is located on an unnamed tributary of Landrum
Creek a Class C stream withm the Cape Fear River basin All construction activities on this project will be done in
compliance with conditions listed in the current NCDOT BMP manual for projects built within areas of Class C
streams Construction will be done under dry conditions whenever possible There were no threatened or endangered
species observed within the project area during the required nummum criteria check There are no known
archeological sites or historic properties associated with this project This project is on a dead end road Access to
the local residents will be maintained during construction There is an area of 0 06 acres ,jurisdictional wetlands
within the project area that will be impacted by the construction A wetland delineation has been performed by DOT
staff and a request for a prelunmary jurisdictional determmation has been submitted to the Corps of Engineers The
wetland boundary along the right of way limit of the project will be protected with safety fencing during
construction If you require any additional information please contact me
