HomeMy WebLinkAbout20120409 Ver 1_Email_20120424Ridings, Rob From Ridings Rob Sent Tuesday Apnl 24 2012 8 37 AM To Murray Christopher A Subject RE Proposed NCDOT repair activities at SR 2929 (Peebles Road) near Rolesville Chris, Agree that this can be covered with GC 3885 and Buffer Exempt, as long as temp impact revegetated Thanks, Rob Original Message - From Murray, Christopher A Sent Monday, April 23, 2012 3 46 PM To Alsmeyer, Eric C SAW, Ridings, Rob Subject Proposed NCDOT repair activities at SR 2929 (Peebles Road) near Rolesville Eric and Rob, The Division 5 Bridge Maintenance Unit has identified a failed fill slope adjacent to a pipe structure conveying an unnamed tributary to Harris Creek along SR 2929 (Peebles Road) in Wake County Pipe segments have come apart need to be repaired Part of the slope has also failed at the location of the failed pipe segments The NCDOT proposes to re set the failed pipe section and stabilize the fill slope The adjacent streambanks will need to be stabilized with Class II rip rap Proposed impacts are detailed below Dewater stream 40 linear feet of temporary impact Rip rap stream bank stabilization 20 linear feet (concurrent inside of the temporary impact) Riparian buffer impact 2,000 square feet of impact (36 linear feet of impact along buffer) This activity appears to be covered by NWP 13 and WQC No 3885 For maintenance sites such as this one, NCDOT Division 5 has a procedure in place to provide our construction crews with print outs of the general conditions along with a letter head cover sheet explaining the intent to operate under a non - reporting permit as long as all applicable conditions are meet Oversight from both the Environmental Staff and REU Field Operations Unit will ensure compliance with the permit conditions are met and that standard BMPs are followed Attached to this email is a courtesy PCN for your files This work was scheduled to begin in May, 2012 Please review this information and contact me if you need further information Chris Murray Email correspondence to and from this sender is subject to the N C Public Records Law and may be disclosed to third parties
