Chris,
Agree that this can be covered with GC 3885 and Buffer Exempt, as long as temp impact
revegetated
Thanks,
Rob

Subject Proposed NCDOT repair activities at SR 2929 (Peebles Road) near Rolesville
Eric and Rob,
The Division 5 Bridge Maintenance Unit has identified a failed fill slope adjacent to a pipe
structure conveying an unnamed tributary to Harris Creek along SR 2929 (Peebles Road) in Wake
County Pipe segments have come apart need to be repaired Part of the slope has also
failed at the location of the failed pipe segments The NCDOT proposes to re set the failed
pipe section and stabilize the fill slope The adjacent streambanks will need to be
stabilized with Class II rip rap Proposed impacts are detailed below
Dewater stream 40 linear feet of temporary impact Rip rap stream bank stabilization 20
linear feet (concurrent inside of the temporary impact) Riparian buffer impact 2,000 square
feet of impact (36 linear feet of impact along buffer)
This activity appears to be covered by NWP 13 and WQC No 3885 For maintenance sites such
as this one, NCDOT Division 5 has a procedure in place to provide our construction crews with
print outs of the general conditions along with a letter head cover sheet explaining the
intent to operate under a non - reporting permit as long as all applicable conditions are meet
Oversight from both the Environmental Staff and REU Field Operations Unit will ensure
compliance with the permit conditions are met and that standard BMPs are followed Attached
