The North Carolina Department of 1 ransportation ( NCDOT) is preparing the planning and em ironmental
studies for the aboN e referenced intersection improx ement project The NCDOT is considering se-, eral
options for improving the intersection including signahzation and adding turn lanes realigning either Erk-wood
Drin e or Shepherd Street with a roundabout or signal or constructing an o-, al or peanut roundabout It is
anticipated that the project will be processed as a Programmatic Categorical Exclusion (PCE)
The purpose of this letter is to solicit 3 our input concerning the potential impacts of the proposed project upon
social economic demographic land use or environmental conditions near the project site A N icinit} map is
attached illustrating the location of the project and its stud) area
Please note that there will be no formal interagenc) scopmg meeting for this project This letter constitutes
