Hey Dave,

Sometime when we are up in Watauga for site reviews, maybe we can go look at a few of these pipe outfalls on the R-
2566B project. Your idea of intentionally creating a pool below the pipes, even if they are fishless and very steep, might
be worth looking into. Maybe we lessen the scour protection so that it has a better chance to scour and/or move some
rocks around to help create a pool….those deeper pools that you often see below perched pipes definitely provide good
fish habitat. I’m just used to trying to limit scour, from a permit standpoint, but maybe we can work in some habitat
improvements at a few of those spots.
