Canton Mill Environmental Performance Update Report (attached)
A Canton Mill status report meeting of the EMC's NPDES Committee is scheduled for-
Wednesday May 9, 2001. Confirmation of the time and location of that meeting will be•mailed
out to you separately, but I wanted to'provide you,with a summary of the Mill's performance in
relation to the current NPDES Permit and the Color Variance. Attached is the subject report
for your information and review. The May 9 meeting is being held to provide the Committee
membership with a status report on the Canton. Mill and to provide you with the schedule for
reissuance of the NPDES Permit. We also plan tc.provide the Committee•a brief review of the
Color Variance approved by the Committee when the permit was last issued. This will be a
"status" meeting only and the Committee will not have before it any action items related to this
permit or variance. If you have any questions concerning this report or need any additional
background on the issues to be presented to the Committee on May 9, please give me a call at
