NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP
FOR PROPOSED TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS TO U S 13/N C 11
FROM N C 11/561 NEAR AHOSKIE TO U S 13/158/N C 45 NEAR WINTON
TIP Project R 5311 WBS No 45449 1 1 Hertford County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation ( NCDOT) will hold the above
citizens informational workshop on March 27 2012 from 4 to 7 p m at Bearfield Primary
School 145 Hertford County High School Road Ahoskie
This project involves improving a 7 8 mile stretch of N C 11 and U S 13 from
dust south of the intersection of N C 11 with N C 561 near Ahoskie to the intersection
of U S 13 with U S 158 and N C 45 near Winton The purpose of the project is to
improve the safety of the N C 11/U S 13 corridor between the N C 11/N C 561
intersection and the U S 13 158/N C 45 intersection The accident rate along
N C 11 and U S 13 are higher than the statewide average No designs have been
prepared yet for the project and only general information will be available at this
workshop Comments received from the public will be used in the preparation of
project designs
The purpose of this meeting is to provide information regarding the proposed
project and to obtain public input Interested citizens may drop by any time during
the meeting to view the project maps and discuss the project NCDOT
representatives will be available in an informal setting to answer questions and
receive comments regarding the proposed project The opportunity to submit written
comments or questions will be provided and is encouraged There will not be a formal
presentation
