Branch Chief
NCDEQ
Non -Discharge Branch
Dear Mr. Thornburg:
Carolina Water Service
of North CarolinaTM
Carolina Water Service of North Carolina requests a minor modification to Permit WQ0001664,
Belvedere Plantation WWTP to:
1. Remove the conjunctive utilization of the 6,023,973-gallon effluent storage pond and all
associated piping, valves, controls, and appurtenances; and
2. Reclassify the 1,5021986-gallon 5 day upset pond as a 5-day storage pond.
CWSNC last used the golf course irrigation as a means of effluent disposal in January 2016, and
now completely relies on the high -rate infiltration basins located off Sloop Point Road as our sole
disposal method.
Upon your approval, the large pond will be released to the property owner and we will provide
documentation of its complete and permanent disconnection from our treatment system.
Respectfully,
Dana Hill
