What data sources did you use to determine whether your site would impact Endangered Species or Designated Critical Habitat? The NC Natural Heritage Program GIS layer was used to determine the known presence of federally listed species. No federally protected species were noted on the site. Several rare species, including sea turtles, sturgeon, manatee, and seabeach amaranth are known to occur within a one mile radius of the lot, most likely within the AIWW, Atlantic Ocean and/or its adjacent beaches. Suitable habitat for these species does not exist within the site. The northern long-eared bat is known to occur in Brunswick County and the site may provide suitable roosting habitat since it is forested. However, no hibernacula nor maternity roosting trees are known to occur in Brunswick County and any effect from tree clearing would be exempt per the 4(d) rule. Consultation Documentation Upload 6. Essential Fish Habitat (Corps Requirement) 6a. Will this project occur in or near an area designated as an Essential Fish Habitat?* r Yes r No Are there submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) around the project vicinity?* r Yes r No r, Unknown 6b. What data sources did you use to determine whether your site would impact an Essential Fish Habitat?* The NOAA Fisheries Essential Fish Habitat Mapper GIS program was used to determine the presence of Essential Fish Habitat. The AIWW is located approximately 250 feet south of the site and is EFH for coastal migratory pelagics, snapper grouper, and spiny lobster. No impacts to EFH will occur from this project. 7.
